Biography
Samita, a partner at Foley Hoag LLP, primarily represents companies, private equity sponsors and investment banks in equity and debttransactions in the capital markets. She also counsels clients on compliance, reporting, M&A, restructurings and other finance transactions, domestically and internationally. Backed by years of study in social inequality and ongoing lived experiences as a Muslim immigrant woman of color, she also unequivocally champions for diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
In every sense, representation matters. And it matters quite critically in traditionally exclusionary spaces. The voices and talents of women in law – and particularly women leaders in law – should be amplified in order to forge wider, longer, greater paths. Opportunities like The Women in Law Initiative are, in my view, essential to the investment of current and future leadership that is diverse and equitable.
