Biography

Alice Fremuth-Wolf has been the am Secretary General of VIAC since 2018 and in this capacity, she has been striving to achieve equal appointments of female and male arbitrators in all institutional appointments.

After she obtained her law degrees (Mag. iur. 1995, Dr. iur. 2002, LL.M. 1998), Alice served as an assistant professor at the Department of Civil Procedure Law at the Law Faculty of Vienna University and worked as an associate with major (Austrian) law firms, before she opened her boutique law firm in 2004 and coached the Vienna Vis Moot Team until 2009. After Alice had given birth to her three kids, she decided to join VIAC where she held the position of Deputy SG before being appointed SG in 2018. Besides her demanding job, she teaches as a lecturer for arbitration at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna.

 

Equal opportunities for women in legal professions are very important because there is certainly still room for improvement
