Biography

Justice Ayesha A. Malik is the first woman ever appointed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where she has built a landmark body of jurisprudence centred on gender equality and human rights. Her rulings, including declaring virginity testing unconstitutional and defining consent, have reshaped the criminal justice system’s treatment of survivors. Awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws by the University of London in 2025.
