Biography
Cornelia Amon-Konrath the deputy director of the Austrian Ombud for Equal Treatment. The Ombud is the National Equality Body supporting people, who feel discriminated against. Cornelia Amon-Konrath gives judicial advice to people who feel discriminated against on the grounds of sex/gender, ethnic origin, religion or belief, age and sexual orientation in the work field. She also gives advice to companies that want to prevent discrimination.
Being a lawyer – regardless if you are a solicitor, in public sevice, or in a company – enables you to make a change. Those changes might be through legislative work, by setting a precendent or working as a judge. This kind of power should not be reserved for men.
