Kerstin Schinnerl

Kerstin Schinnerl is the Executive Director of Verein Frauen-Rechtsschutz (Association for Women’s Legal Protection) in Vienna. She has previously worked at the Council of Europe, with the monitoring mechanism of the Istanbul Convention, and for UNFPA in Egypt as an advisor on gender and human rights and a Program Officer implementing projects on GBV. She also has experience in working directly with survivors of gender-based violence, as from 2015 – 2019 she worked at the Violence Protection Center in Vienna, providing counselling and support to victims of domestic violence. In this capacity, she also coordinated the drafting of the first Austrian NGO Shadow Report to GREVIO.
