Biography
Laura Carlson, professor at the Department of Law, Stockholm University, focuses her university leadership, teaching and research on issues of equality, constantly working for a greater presence of women in leadership positions in the academy, and highlighting in her research policy areas that should be addressed at least partially through the law, such as equal pay, work-life balance and sexual harassment.
Organization such as The Women in Law Initiative are essential for highlighting issues of gender equality, individuals working to achieve gender equality and for identifying role models for the next generation. In the same vein, women in law need to be on parity with men with respect to working conditions and recognition, in order to be able to continue the good fight. This fight is dear to me, for myself, my daughter, my niece and all other bright, talented women that deserve to succeed.
