Paul Yates

Paul Yates is counsel at Freshfields, based in the firm’s London office, and is head of the firm’s global pro bono practice. Freshfields acts pro bono for a wide range of clients from individual asylum seekers and survivors of trafficking to leading international humanitarian charities. In his own casework, Paul represents human trafficking survivors, advises charities on their use of strategic litigation, and has also been at the forefront of developing legaltech to assist survivors of domestic abuse in the UK.

Equal opportunities for women in law are very important to me. Almost all my role models throughout my career happen to have been female. I have learned so much from them and I am excited to learn more from – and join the discussion with – participants at the Women in Law Initiative.
