Slyvia Chirawu-Mugomba

Slyvia Chirawu-Mugomba, a Judge of the High Court of Zimbabwe. She uses her experience in the women’s and girl’s rights field to integrate substantive equality in the courts of law through her judgments. With her experience in the academic world as well, she is keen to demystify the law. She is the first Judge of the High Court of Zimbabwe who comes with experience from civil society, academia, private practice and consultancy.

Despite research showing that at law schools, women outnumber men, after graduation it is a different story. Women somehow fall through the cracks. It is time that we reclaim our space as women lawyers. We can make a difference. Initiatives such as Women In Law amplify the voices of women lawyers.
